Paying tributes to the pioneers, Imlinok said the four leaders came together with a shared vision on 22nd July 1948, striving for the unity and upliftment of students from Langpangkong for a brighter future.

During the event, the LKM conferred the late L Pangersowa Jamir Trust Award for Academic Excellence to Akummeren Longkumer Wameken and Mereninla Pongen Mongsenyimti. The award carried citation and cash prize for the toppers.

AKM general secretary Satemmongba expressed appreciation for the LKM, stating that it has always extended a hand to AKM in its efforts to uplift the student body and support various initiatives for the betterment of society. He commended the LKM for its role in addressing critical issues, such as school visitation and the shortage of teachers, LKM Road Coordination Committee for infrastructure inspection of ongoing NH-02 and Foothill Road etc, halting illegal taxes, advocating for reservation review through the 5 Tribes Committee etc. He emphasized the need for both organizations to stand firm and continue working diligently for these vital causes.

The second session of the event featured a “Clean Election” theme prepared speech competition. Among the top 7 finalists, Temjenzulu from Akhoya Students’ Union secured the first position and Sangtoba from Merangkong Students’ Union secured the second position.

Theme speaker, Pastor Temjen Longkumer emphasized that clean election is aligned with God’s will, reminding that honesty and integrity should govern society. Without these values, he said pride, selfishness, and disrespect will prevail. He elaborated that true understanding lies in knowing that standing firm for integrity can never be a loss.

The speaker further urged upon the village councils and students’ unions to stand firm for clean and honest elections and to reject the practice of selling votes.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by LKM vice president Ardangsen, followed by a closing prayer.
