The Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) has condemned the “brutal assault and attempted murder” perpetrated on Pastor Rhanlamo Kikon of Yampha Baptist Church on 24th August 2024 at Naukhuti Town by a national worker belonging to the NSCN (Khango) faction.

In a press release, LBCA stated: “Considering the series of threat, assault, extortion, attempt to murder, etc. which the Naga society had been witnessing these past few months, the LBCA wonders as to how the citizens of Nagaland will survive if these trends continue? And if even the religious fraternity is not spared under the atrocious action of these barbaric people, the LBCA wonders as to what extend the common people of Nagaland will be facing the situations?”

Rev. Khonbemo P. Kikon, Executive Secretary, LBCA also said that the time has come for citizens of Nagaland “to think twice and bring about a lasting solution which will ensure safety, security and the future of our younger generation.”

While appreciating NSCN (Khango) for terminating the accused, Akhekevi s/o Ahovi, the LBCA stressed that law must still take its own course of action and urged the concern authorities “to book the culprit at the earliest and initiate befitting action against the culprit at an earliest possible time.”
