Livingstone Foundation International College successfully conducted its 2nd Literary Cum Cultural Meet on 22nd and 23rd February in its campus in Dimapur. Principal, LFI College, Dr R K Behera said that the event was harmonious convergence of literary brilliance and cultural vibrancy and brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests in an eloquent celebration of the written word and diverse forms of artistic expression.
The Literary day was held on the first day of the meet under the theme ‘Perusing the Past, Recasting the Future’ where the Administrator, LFI College, Arthur Edward urged the students and teachers to be dedicated and live a life of integrity.
The program was graced by the presence of David Lhoupenyi, Geologist, Directorate of Geology and Mining, Government of Nagaland, Dimapur as the Guest of Honour. He stressed on the importance of literature and encouraged the students to be a part of the literary world. Various competitions such as debate on impact of social media, poetry recital, prepared speech, painting competition and spelling bee was conducted, the Principal informed.
The second day of the meet was the Cultural Day where Achilo Kikon, IQAC Coordinator LFI College spoke on “Windows to Culture” emphasizing on the importance of preserving and transmission of culture. Abigial Odyuo, Proprietor, Shofar Music Academy, Dimapur was the Special Guest and Judge for folk tale and folk song.
The other activities on 23rd February included indigenous games such as ‘fats eating competition’, basket race, yarn spinning, marble and five stones. The winners of the competitions were felicitated.
The vote of thanks was conveyed by Suipoilie, Convenor of the program and the two days event was concluded with a benediction.
