LFI College felicitates student who was part of team that broke World Record for ‘highest martial arts kick’

Dimapur: Principal LFI College encourages students to take good inspiration and have determination towards their interests in life

Livingstone Foundation International College organised a felicitation in honor of Kevin of 3rd Semester, Dept. Of political science and member Faith in Action for breaking the Guinness World record for the “highest martial arts kick (assisted). The program was held at the College premises at 10:00 Am and attended by all the students and faculty. The team from the “Faith-in-Action Taekwondo Academy” in Dimapur broke the records at Mumbai on the sets of India’s Got Talent at 14.5 ft breaking the previous records by China set at 14.2 ft.

It is noteworthy to state that this is not the first time Faith in Action has made waves in the martial arts world. In 2014, they emerged as global winners in the “Team Aerobic Competition” at the world Taekwon-do Hanmadamg in South Korea’s Pohang City. Competing as part of the Taekwondo Board of India, the 20-person team stood out among the 4000 participants from 147 nations. This victory marked a historic moment as it was the only Indian team to accomplish so in 40 years.

Kevin in his speech shared his experiences and the hardships the team had to go through. He stated that the team had been practicing for 9 years tirelessly and had to go through innumerable hardships, even till the point they reached for the sets in Mumbai. He further thanked the College for the constant support and motivation, further stating that he owes this victory to the college and everyone who has been supporting the team unwaveringly.

The program was chaired by Ms. Imolangla Humtsoe, Dean of Students Welfare, speech on behalf of students by Ameka, Vice President of LfIC students’ council, and special prayer by Ms. Suipoile Senior Advisor, LFIC, EU. Dr. R.K.Behera , Principal LFI College also encouraged the students to take good inspiration and have determination towards their interests in life. Mr. Kevin was felicitated by the College as well as Students Council for his Victory.
