LG invites Omar Abdullah to form Govt in J&K on 16th October

Srinagar: President’s Rule in J&K revoked on 13th October 2024

Manoj Singha, Lieutenant Governor, Jammu & Kashmir, has invited Omar Abdullah, Leader of Legislature Party and Vice President of National Conference, to take Oath of Office as the Chief Minister on 16th October 2024.

“I shall administer Oath of Office and Secrecy to you, and to those recommended by you for induction as members of your Council of Ministers, at SKICC, Srinagar on 16th October, 2024 at 11:30 a.m”, the invitation stated.

The LG mentioned that he had received a letter from Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of NC, informing of the unanimous election of Omar Abdullah as Leader of the Legislature Party. Further, Singha also said that he received letter from the Congress, CPI (M), Aam Aadmi Party and five Independent MLAs offering support in the formation of Government led by Omar Abdullah.

The President’s Rule in J&K was revoked on 13th October 2024 paving way for the NC-Congress alliance to form the new government.
