Lidi Kro-u Society launches logo; holds Thanksgiving Programme for Governor’s Award in Music 2024

The Lidi Kro-u Society held its Thanksgiving Programme for Governor’s Award in Music 2024 on August 17 with Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education and SCERT gracing the occasion. The Society’s logo was also launched during the event.

“Womenfolk are the forerunners in preserving our culture and have helped uphold our culture by continuing our cultural practices at home and promoting it by observing traditional days in the offices,” remarked Yhome.

He called on the Society to collaborate and create a Cultural Centre where the younger generation can come to learn our traditional practices, songs and the various agricultural practices. Yhome hoped that the Society will carry forward its good work and lead the way for the Nagas to preserve and safeguard our culture.

Chairman, Kohima Village Council, Helievio Solo while congratulating the Society said that one’s culture, traditions and folklores defines one’s identity. Solo expressed gratitude to the Society for bridging the gap between the older and younger generations by passing down our cultural knowledge. The Chairman further called on the Society to explore ways to promote the folk tunes and folk songs.

Lidi Kro-u Society, Kohima recently received the Governor’s Award for its contribution in the field of Music during the 78th Independence Day 2024. During the programme’ Neisakuonuo Solo, President, Lidi Kro-u Society share details of the works of the Society since its inception and Kelhoulenuo Keyho, General Secretary, Lidi Kro-u Society pronounced the vote of thanks.
