The Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) has strongly condemned what it termed as “the unconstitutional, self styled and illegal misconduct of the LSU Election (2026-2029) by the Election Commission”.
In a press release issued on March 14, the Union condemns that the Commission’s actions include the disqualification of six candidates without following the LSU constitution and unauthorized electorate switching by the Election Commission. It further claimed that the entire election proceedings was ‘questionable and arbitrary’.

“We condemn in the highest form and unconstitutional. We condemn the forceful conduct of elections despite a boycott by 54 of 90 units and candidates. With only 43 units participating, the electoral college is illegitimate and illegal,” the Union asserted.
Consequently, the Union declared that it disowned the unconstitutional conduct of the election and will not recognize the election commission’s biased and unconstitutional decision and conduct.
The Union further advised the members to refrain from cooperating or acknowledging with the Commission’s decisions. Demanding for free and fair elections, the Union claimed that it will not recognize the declaration of results until the commission decision is dissolved and declared null and void.
“Notably, the Commission’s claim of 19 units pulling out is disputed, as 16 signatories were not authorized by their Presidents. Never in the history of LSU such illegal conduct has been reported,” stated the Union.
