The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, has urged the officials of Election Expenditure Monitoring Team to consider election duty seriously and give primary importance to it. At a meeting held with the EEM team at DC Office Conference Hall, Kohima on Thursday in connection with the forthcoming General Election to 18th Lok Sabha 2024, he also stressed the need for the officials to go through the guidelines of Election Expenditure Monitoring handbook in-depth for smooth conduct of election without any inducement or bias.
The DC & DEO also asked the officials to take the responsibility very seriously and urged all the different teams to work closely for the successful conduct of the election. He remarked that no exemption from the election duty shall be entertained.
District Nodal Officer for Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM), Deputy Registrar, Nagaland Cooperative Societies, Bokato Hesso gave the detailed information about the role and duty of the EEM Team during election. He also highlighted the usage of Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) App. to the EEM personnel.
Earlier, Assistant Election Officer Kohima, Olivi Thurr, while chairing the meeting informed the EEM Team consisting of Assistant Expenditure Observers, Video Surveillance Team (VST), Video Viewing Team (VVT), Accounting Team, Flying Squad Team (FST), Static Surveillance Team (SST) and Control Room becomes automatically activated from the date of announcement of election and urged all the officials detailed for election duty to be vigil and discharge their duties as per the ECI guidelines.
