Lok Sabha 2024: Polling over in 283 PCs, 260 more to go

New Delhi: Voter turnout in third phase approximately 61.45% as of 8:00 pm, says ECI

With the successful completion of Phase 3 of the General Elections 2024 to the 18th Lok Sabha, polling is now over in 20 States/Union Territories and 283 Parliamentary Constituencies, the Election Commission of India announced today. The three phases covered the entire North eastern part of the country, Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected and vulnerable areas in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

ECI informed that the total voter turnout recorded in the 93 PCs in the third phase was approximately 61.45% as of 8:00 pm with highest in Assam where it witnessed 75.26%. Voters from across 11 States/UTs participated enthusiastically to cast their vote at their polling stations, braving hot weather conditions in some areas, it stated.

A total of 1331 candidates were in the electoral fray in this Phase, the Commission informed.
