Lok Sabha 2024: Polling today for 93 seats in 11 States/UTs during Phase 3

Polling is being held on Tuesday for 93 Parliamentary Constituencies in 11 States/ Union Territories during Phase 3 of the General Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha. There are over 17.24 crore voters are registered in these Constituencies including 8.85 crore male and 8.39 female.

Earlier, poll day for Anantnag-Rajouri PC in Jammu and Kashmir was rescheduled to the Sixth phase. Also, no polling will be held in Surat PC in Gujarat as the BJP candidate has been elected unopposed. Meanwhile, Betul PC in Madhya Pradesh will also go to polls on Tuesday since polling date for the PC was rescheduled from Phase-2 owing to the demise of a BSP candidate.

Polling for 189 seats has already been completed in the first two phases of the General Elections which is being conducted in seven phases. The Phase 7 will be held on 2nd June. The Counting Day is scheduled for 4th June 2024.

The Election Commission of India has asserted that it is “fully geared” up for this phase. It informed that around 18.5 lakh Polling officials have been posted across 1.85 lakh polling stations and 264 Observers, 101 General Observers, 54 Police Observers, 109 Expenditure Observers have already reached their Constituencies days before the polls. Additionally, Special Observers have been deployed in certain states.

The Commission has also mentioned that as a disclosure initiative for other stakeholders and media, State/PC/AC wise tentative turnout figures are made available through ECI Voter Turnout app. The figures will be updated on the day of polling on two hourly basis till 7 pm.
