The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of star campaigners for BJP candidates for Lok Sabha Election 2024 in the States of Nagaland and Manipur. The names on the list include big powers such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, etc

The BJP is not fielding its own candidate for the lone Parliamentary seat but has chosen Dr Chumben Murry of NDPP, to be the People Democratic Alliance’s consensus candidate.

With the disgruntles people of Eastern Nagaland threatening to boycott the elections after the BJP government failed to keep its promise to grant Frontier Nagaland Territory, it is uncertain if any BJP leader will be allowed in the region.

Nagaland will go to polls on 19th April 2024.

Even more uncertain is whether PM Modi will finally visit Manipur to campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections. The Prime Minister is yet to visit the State since violence broke out on 3rd May 2023. Further, he had not made a single appeal for peace to the people of Manipur. In fact, PM Modi had spoken on only one occasion spoken about Manipur, which was before the beginning of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
