Yongkongsangla R, the sole councillor-elect in the Mokokchung Municipal Council from the Indian National Congress, expressed her happiness on winning her first election and conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to all the INC party workers and well-wishers who helped her through prayers, financial support, physical efforts, spiritual guidance, and intellectual contributions.
“I am thrilled and excited to achieve this milestone, and I am committed to serving my ward by focusing on infrastructure development, vocational training, education, and other needs for both women and men,” she said. Yongkongsangla won from Artang Ward in Mokokchung.
Her top priorities include infrastructure improvements, such as roads and footpaths, which she identified as the most important issue during her door-to-door campaign visits. She pledged to reach out to both state and central governments to address her ward’s needs.
She dedicates her service to the people and emphasizes the importance of clean election, proudly announcing that she won the election based on the principle of clean election. She attributed her success to the dedication and support of her party members, well-wishers, and supporters and, above all, God’s grace and blessings, giving all glory to Him.
Yongkongsangla R, daughter of Late Rebakokba and Imtichila, was born in 1977 and is a resident of Artang Ward, Mokokchung. She holds an MA in Ao and a B.Ed degree, with a long-standing commitment to the teaching profession spanning over 18 years. Her notable achievements include receiving the Teachers Sub-Divisional Award in 2015 and the State Teachers Award in 2021.
