World AIDS Day is commemorated around the world on 1 December every year. It is a day marked to show support for those living with HIV and to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS.
The day was founded in 1988 as the first ever international day for global health. A specific theme is focused upon each World AIDS Day. This year’s theme ‘Equalize’ is a prompt by UNAIDS to address the inequalities that are holding back progress in ending AIDS.
