A traffic awareness seminar was organised by Longleng Police in collaboration with Drivers’ Union Longleng on Thursday at the Superintendent of Police’s Conference Hall in Longleng.
Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Longleng explained the traffic etiquettes, Motor Vehicle Act 1988, requirements of documents, following traffic rules, not using mobile/drinking while driving, etc. She said that driving a vehicle has a big responsibility to ensure safety and everyone should follow traffic rules. Batra also urged drivers to be good Samaritans in the golden hour.

I. Bunglang Chang, NPS, SDPO Longleng spoke on traffic offenses (MV Act 1988), ASI Limatemjen, I/C, traffic cell Longleng, on traffic rules and signs, and Dr. Waulong, Phom District Hospital Longleng educated the drivers on First Aid along with demonstrations.
The programme was attended by the District Drivers’ Union Longleng, Taxi Union Longleng, ward representatives, drivers, students, Police cadets, and medical department. The programme was followed by free medical check-up by District Hospital Longleng and helmets were given to the bike riders.
