The Lotha Hoho (LH) has demanded befitting punishment under the relevant sections of law for the accused in the assault case of Pastor of Yanpha Baptist Church at Naukhuti Town on 24th August 2024. Condemning the “inhumane barbaric act and heinous crime” by one Akhekivi, a cadre of NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango, the organisation urged law enforcing agency to leave no stone unturned to extract the facts of the incident.

It stated: “The Hoho vehemently condemns the life attempt exhibited by the accused by loading the pistol and attempted but misfired and for which the Hoho urged to book the perpetrator under NSA. Also the investigating agency will dwell well by undertaking meticulous investigating methodology, so that no lacunae is created to leave leeway to the acquittal at the time of trial.”

In its statement issued by Vice Chairman Mhathung Humtsoe and General Secretary Tsupon Murry, the Lotha Hoho has also appealed to all the factions of the NNPGs “to refrain from such uncivilized inhumane manifestations to the peaceful loving citizens of Nagaland and respect the human rights of every individual.” It also reminded all factions of the NNPGs that in the event of such occurrences against any Lotha individual in the future, the Lotha Naga Tribe will immediately cease cooperation to all such organization/s.
