Kiphire: Principal thanks alumni association for all cooperation and support to school

The Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire held its Alumni Day Cum Felicitation of HSLC Topper on Saturday. Rev Fr Philip Magh, Principal of the school, hailed the special occasion and announced his happiness that Thsatangpa Sangtam will be continuing his higher secondary education in the school.

Thsatangpa Sangtam had secured Rank-6 in the class 10 examination 2023 conducted by Nagaland Board of School Education.

The principal further lauded their topper pupil as sincere, hardworking, dedicated, trustworthy and a model whom others can look up to.

Rev. Fr Philip Magh, in his speech, also thanked the alumni association for all their cooperation and support to the school. Sharing a story of his former school, Holy Cross Dimapur, where an alumni batch of requested him to visit their old classrooms, the principal said that the “blissful smile on their faces” showed how they cherished and reminisced the good old days of their student lives.

“I understand what it means to be back to your old days, it is a blessing not everyone can witness,” he said to the alumni of Loyola Hr Sec School.

Kiphire Deputy Commissioner John Tsulise Sangtam, who is also an alumnus, congratulated Thsatangpa for bringing laurel to the school and his community. He also congratulated the parents and teachers for their support and guidance. Further, he urged the students to contribute a little towards the school in one’s own capacity to let the school shine.

Later, speaking to Nagaland Tribune, DC Tsulise said that there is absolutely no substitute for hardwork, honesty and sincerity in one’s approach.

In the program, Thsatangpa thanked his principal, teachers and everyone for all the support. He encouraged the gathering to keep striving for the better and to never giving up on one’s dream.

Tsalichum S Sangtam in his ‘memoir of old days’ on behalf of Alumni Association Loyola said,

“Create memories because they will be your best friend.” He added that memories made during the school days will “bring you joy, cheer, strengthen you and encourage in the old days.”

The alumni association felicitated Thsatangpa Sangtam and his parents with certificate and cash award.

It may be mentioned that Loyola Hr Sec School, Kiphire has produced five toppers in its history – Ashish Kumar Mishra, Rank-12, HSLC (2011); Ayushi Pathak, Rank-8, HSSLC (2020); Chumliba Monzar, Rank-1, HSSLC (2020), Puja Kumari Gupta, Rank-4, HSSLC (2022) and Thsatangpa Sangtam.
