LSU Black Day on April 14; educational institutions to remain close within Wokha district

The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), in profound reverence and solemn observance, has notified that all educational institutions within Wokha District shall remain closed on April 14, 2025 to commemorate the LSU Black Day and the closing ceremony of the 24th Edition of the LSU Martyrs’ Trophy.

“This day serves as a poignant reminder of the ultimate sacrifices made by our martyrs, Late Thungkomo Ezung of Longsa Village and Late Chumdamo Tungoe of Phiro Village, who laid down their lives for the noble cause of our people, upholding the values of freedom, justice and equality for which they sacrificed,” stated the LSU in a notification.

To commemorate the significant day to honor their memories and acknowledge their contributions, the LSU has invited the students of Class 9 and above from all the schools and colleges within Wokha Town to join them in paying heartfelt respect to their beloved martyrs on 14th April at Public Ground, Wokha, time:11:00 AM.

“Let us come together, take a moment to honor their memory and reflect on the values they had stood for. May their legacy inspire us to work towards a brighter future for our people. We look forward to your presence as we pay tribute to our martyrs and celebrate the spirit of unity and resilience,” stated the LSU.
