Lt Governor of Delhi hosts Statehood Foundation Day of Nagaland and Assam

New Delhi: Saxena encourages people to visit Nagaland, Assam

The joint celebration of Statehood Foundation Day of Nagaland and Assam was hosted by Lt. Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena and his wife, Sangita Saxena at Raj Niwas, New Delhi on 2nd December 2024 as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ initiative. The Statehood Day of Nagaland is celebrated on 1st December and that of Assam is celebrated on 2nd December every year.

Lt. Governor, Vinai Kumar Saxena greeting the people of Nagaland and Assam on the occasion of their Statehood Day expressed his happiness on the progress and development that has taken place in the states, highlighting some of the unique characteristics and achievements of both the states. He encouraged one and all to include the two North-East states in their travel itinerary as they have many beautiful and rich experiences to offer. He also conveyed his wish for both the states to achieve greater heights and in further contributing to the growth of the country.

The event brought together the Naga and Assamese community residing in Delhi, in celebrating their Statehood Day. A folk song was presented by the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Delhi and cultural dance was performed by the Assamese cultural troupe during the programme.
