The Department of Agriculture Office Longleng held a programme on Tuesday at the District Agriculture Office for distributing farmer machineries under Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) 2022-2023, to farmers under Longleng district, DIPR informed.

EAC Longleng, S. Chingmai in her speech as the special guest said for the district to head in the right direction, it requires the knowledge of acquiring different kinds of schemes provided for the welfare of the Government. She extended her appreciation to the State Government, the Department of Agriculture for looking after the welfare of the farmers. She added that they were fortunate that to be led by local officers.

Chingmai stated that if testimonies can be shared by the beneficiaries about the tools and equipment provided by the Government, it would bring a positive outcome. She called upon the gathering to preserve seeds for the future. She encouraged the farmers to utilise the machines judiciously.

The keynote address was delivered by DAO Longleng, S. Yongchang Phom while Samoi, a farmer from Pongching village shared the words of appreciation on behalf of the farmers. The programme was chaired by AI Longleng, M. Chingsang Phom.
