Maidan FC wins NTWTA’s 1st Futsal Championship Challenge

Kohima: KDFA President stresses importance of enhancing support for sports and treat players

Maidan FC emerged as the champion of 1st Futsal Championship Challenge organised by the Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association (NTWTA) on 27 April at under the theme “Stronger Together”.

Special 7 secured 1st Runner-up while Riders Roster got the 2nd Runner-up award and Shaolin Soccer got 3rd Runner-up.

The Player of the tournament was awarded to Haiso from Maidan FC and Best Goalkeeper to Kesinlo Khing from Special 7 team.

Speaking at the event, President of Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), M. Matthew Yhome, highlighted the pressing need for a revamp in our approach to organizing sports events. He stressed the importance of enhancing the way we support and treat our players to elevate the overall sports experience.

Additionally, Keneisalie Belho, the President of NTWTA, in his address, shed light on the intricacies of the programme and underscored the significance of hosting such sports activities specifically for scooty drivers. He emphasized that these events not only serve as a brief respite for the drivers but also provide them with the opportunity to engage in physical exercise, contributing to their overall health and well-being.

Ngusalie Kire, Secretary Organizing Committee lead the oath taking. The programme was chaired by Thejavizo Solo, Treasurer, NTWTA. The program was earlier blessed with Invocation by Akhoto Kennao, Youth Director Christ Church, Kohima.
