Major M Pritam Singh was cremated on 5th April 2024 at Luker, Imphal West, Manipur with full military honours. The martyr lost his life on 3rd April 2024 due to climate hazards while deployes in an Operational Area at Siachen, Ladakh.
The Spokesperson of Defence Ministry informed that the mortal remains of Major Singh was received by senior military officers on its arrival at Imphal Airport on 5th April. As a mark of respect and military traditions, all present paid floral tributes at the airport, after which the mortal remains was taken to the officer’s residence.
The cremation ceremony was held with full military honours, in presence of senior military officials, representatives of civil administration and family members, at around 4 pm.
Major M Pritam Singh was commissioned into Indian Army on 9 December 2017, after successful training at Army Cadet College and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The officer was an avid sportsman and enjoyed love and respect by all ranks of his battalion.
