Th corpse of a man was discovered outside a government quarter in the Government Fishery area at Wokha in the early hours on 21st May 2024. The body was hanging form the window grill of the quarter.

Speaking on the case, Additional Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Soriso K Quinker said that the Wokha Police Station received information over the phone at around 5:30 am on 21st May about a person who hung himself at the area.

Upon receiving the report at Wokha Police Station, the Officer in Charge (OC) and accompanying personnel rushed to the scene to investigate, he informed.

The deceased was identified as Innakya Rengma, aged 41, son of the late Tonhon Mach under Tesophenyu Police Station, Tseminyu, currently residing in Wokha Town.

The Addl SP said that authorities have confirmed that no evidence of foul play was detected during the investigation.

After all legal formalities were observed and completed, the deceased’s body was respectfully handed over to his family to facilitate the final rites.
