Convenor of ex-servicemen cell of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Laishram Rameshwor Singh, 50, was shot dead by unknown persons at his residential house located at Thoubal Kshetri leikai between 10.20 to 11.30am today.

He succumbed to injuries at Raj Medicity in Imphal.

Sources said he was shot on the chest and was in critical condition upon reaching hospital.

Thoubal Police, who accessed CCTV footage, say two miscreants came on an XUV and shot Singh around 11am, sources informed.

The driver has been arrested and the vehicle seized.

Police are on the lookout for the other person who fired the shot, sources further informed.
