The Manipur Police has refuted the allegations made by the NSCN-IM against the Superintendent of Police, Ukhrul aiding Kuki militants, calling the claims “blatantly false”.
In a press release issued on 11 January 2025, the NSCN-IM had accused that on 18 December 2024, SP Ukhrul directed the loading two trucks and two mini trucks with rice and tin sheets and large quantity of undisclosed items, which were delivered to “approximately 200 Kuki militants” at Molham Kuki Village.

In response, the State Police has stated that based on a request from the Border Security Force (BSF) and Kangpokpi District Police, as well as directives from Police Headquarters, Ukhrul District Police gave police guides to the BSF team traveling to Molham Kuki Village on 12 December 2024 and again on 19th December 2024. It also said that the Ukhrul District Police provided security escorts to trucks carrying laborers and materials for the construction of security barracks in Molham Kuki village, which will house BSF coys.
The Manipur Police has appealed to the media and public to avoid posting and publishing of unverified reports “during these sensitive times when efforts are being made from all fronts to bring peace and restore normalcy in the state.”
