Manipur to host 59th Femina Miss India Finale

In a first in the Northeast region of India, Manipur will be hosting the finale of 59th Femina Miss India, 2023.

The Times Group enters into a first-ever partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Manipur, to host the grand finale of Femina Miss India 2023 tentatively in 3rd week of April.

Chief operating officer, Miss India Organisation, Rohit Gopakumar and director of Manipur tourism department, W Ibohal in the presence of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren and MD, The Times of India, Vineet Jain signed the agreement.

Speaking on the partnership, CM Biren said the event will be held in Manipur with the purpose to celebrate the diverse and inclusive Indian culture.

He exuded confidence that the coming of India’s best talents will help inspire and empower the local youths besides showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

He maintained that the willingness to organise such a grant event in the state reflects the growing interest in NE especially Manipur and build-up of confidence regarding security scenario and investment.

Biren added that the event will further promote tourism and local products to another level and will be a new chapter for tourism business.

Meanwhile, MD, The Times of India, Vineet Jain said over the last 6 decades, Femina Miss India has reached audiences in different cities across the Country, and the Finale of the 59th edition in Imphal will be something to remember for a long time.

Miss India has transformed the lives of many Indian women, giving them empowerment, employability, opportunity and a strong voice in the community. The state of Manipur also believes in empowering its women to be equal partners in development, hence this partnership is a natural culmination of ideologies and vision, he said.

In honour of the partnership and to mark this historic milestone, mementoes were exchanged between the Chief Minister of Manipur, and Managing Director, the Times of India.
