In anticipation of the 78th Independence Day celebration on August 15, Pungro Town conducted a mass social work on August 10, informed a DIPR report. During the event, all shops remained closed until 9:00 a.m. Households and sh’ps were requested to deposit garbage at designated locations, ensuring that only solid waste, plastic, and other non-biodegradable materials were placed at these points for collection by dumper trucks.
The cleanliness drive proved successful, with numerous residents participating in the event.

CHOZUBA
In connection with 78th Independence Day preparation in Chozuba Town under Phek district, a mass social work cum cleanliness drive was organized on August 10.
The mass work started from 7:00 am onwards was held under the leadership of Dr. Diana Patton, Additional Deputy Commissioner and supervised by Councillors of Chozuba Town Council and GBs in their respective wards. The denizens took part actively in the cleanliness drive cum and mass social work.
