Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, has informed that a Mass Social Work will be conducted in Kohima Town on 6th June 2024 (Thursday) from 6:00 am onwards in order to clean/clear all clogged drains in Kohima Town area. This is in pursuance of the decision taken by the Kohima District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and as part of the monsoon preparedness exercise.

The DC stated in the Circular that the Mass Social Work will involve all District Offices in Kohima along with the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC). In this regard, all the Heads of Offices in the district have been requested to take note of the following instructions;

– All participants shall be required to bring necessary tools/items for the work as per requirement.

– The Offices/departments marked for arrangement of vehicles/machineries for Garbage pick up & Disposal shall assess the required machinery and arrange accordingly.

– The concerned Team leaders shall ensure that garbage collected is properly disposed-off at the KMC dumping site.

– All concerned offices/departments have been requested to cooperate and actively participate in the Social Work.
