The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has condemned the incident of 4th May 2023 at Kangpokpi district, Manipur calling it not only a complete failure of law and order but a complete failure of the country to protect its daughters.

In a press release, S. Supongmeren Jamir, NPCC president offered “deepest commiseration to the victims of the family and to every individual who has been deeply scarred and hurt by this gruesome incident”. He stated that there is no justification for the act.

The statement also mentioned that the failure of concerned authorities and lawmakers in dealing with the crisis has led to loss of faith in the Manipur government. NPCC further wondered how many more unreported and hidden incidences are yet to be revealed in the violence affected state.

The Congress committee appealed to all organizations, NGOs, councils, and urban bodies, “to come together and bring peace and understanding among all communities as it once was.”
