MDLSA organises awareness programme

The Mokokchung District Legal Service Authority (MDLSA), as per the common action plan of the organized an awareness program on February 24, 2025. The event focused on the NALSA scheme for victims of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, launched in 2015.

Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of the Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority, Julian Sitlhou, played a key role in sensitizing attendees to the Scheme of 2015 and awareness on the NALSA Child-Friendly Legal Services Scheme, introduced in 2024, informed a press release by MDLSA. She highlighted the establishment of Legal Services Units for Children in every district, aiming to provide accessible and supportive legal services to children and the role of LSUC in assisting the child Victim of Crimes and trafficking.

The awareness program featured an interactive session, where stakeholders discussed and addressed concerns related to the scheme. Various organizations attended the event, including the Child Helpline Mokokchung, District Child Protection Unit, Women Police, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Child Welfare Committee, and the Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority.

This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the Mokokchung District Legal Service Authority to promoting awareness and supporting vulnerable groups, particularly children and victims of trafficking, stated the press release.
