Felicitation of Zunheboto District Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic medal winners on 14 September.

The District Sports Council Zunheboto on 14 September felicitated the medal winners from the district at the 2nd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022. The programme was held at the District Sports Council Indoor stadium.

The sportspersons representing the district had collectively won 16 medals including six gold, two silver and eight bronze.

Special guest, K T Sukhalu Advisor, School Education & SCERT, expressed his happiness to witness the potentials of the young people in the field of sports. He emphasised that discipline and consistency brought success while quests for fame and popularity brought failure.

Sukhalu encouraged the audience present in the program to encourage their children to participate in co-curricular activities. He said that education degrees alone cannot guarantee a secure future for the children given that the competition is very intense.

Nikito Tsuqu, two times gold medalist (Boxing), in a short speech said that being a proud Naga and Sumi, he had always had the ambition to do something for the community. He added that he had been able to fulfil the dream through sports.
