The Medical Department was declared the Champion of the 6th Dimapur District Inter-Departmental Sports Meet 2024 as the event concluded on 22nd November at Multi Complex Stadium, Dimapur.

The Medical Department had acquired 54 points winning 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze. The Power Department came in the second position scoring 29 points with 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze. Meanwhile the third place went to Geology and Mining Department with 22 points. The Department had bagged 1 Gold and 2 Silver.

The Grand Closing Ceremony was graced by Kevithuto Sophie, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur who emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering collaboration among government departments while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

“As government servants, we are all busy with our responsibilities. This is a chance to come together, get to know one another, and support each other. These activities should be organized every year,” Sophie said.

Underscoring the role of public servants, the Commissioner encouraged participants to recognize the significance in their respective roles and their collective responsibility to serve the people of Dimapur effectively. “With our own unique responsibilities, we are all important in our roles. Together, we can contribute to helping the public and Dimapur as a whole.”

Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, along with the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude to all participants and departments for their enthusiastic involvement and support in making the event a success.
