A Mega Hospitality Job Fair was held at Eagle Crest Institute – East Campus, Middle Colony, near Dimapur Hospital, Purana Bazar today. The event was organized by Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland under the Chief Minister’s flagship programme — Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM).
The occasion also marked the inauguration of the Extended Campus of Eagle Crest Institute, aimed at expanding training opportunities for local youth and providing a platform to connect them with reputed employers from the hospitality and tourism industry.Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering comprising of young job seekers, students, trainers and partners from across India and abroad, Metha praised the efforts of Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy for its relentless commitment towards skilling and empowering the youth of Nagaland. He lauded the leadership and the entire team behind Eagle Crest for offering not just training, but hope, encouragement, and a platform to achieve excellence and employment for the state’s youth.
Representing the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Metha conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to all participants. He informed the gathering that before attending the event, he had spoken to the Chief Minister, who expressed his appreciation for the initiative and extended his support to all students, trainers, and stakeholders involved in the job fair.
Metha underlined the vision of the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM), launched under the Chief Minister’s flagship programme, aimed at preparing youth for the future by equipping them with the right skills and making them employment-ready. He stressed the importance of merit, hard work, and determination, adding that there are no shortcuts to success and that excellence can only be achieved through consistent effort and empowerment through knowledge.
Encouraging students to take advantage of the opportunities available in today’s information-driven world, he pointed out that ignorance can no longer be an excuse in the digital age. He urged the youth to use the internet and technology to empower themselves, acquire knowledge, and prepare for global opportunities.
Metha reminded the audience that information is now readily available at the click of a button and should be used wisely and responsibly.

He also emphasized the importance of using social media platforms positively and responsibly, cautioning young users against spreading misinformation and urging them to fact-check and be sensitive to the feelings of others. He called on the youth to become positive ambassadors of Nagaland and rewrite the narrative of the state by showcasing their talents, skills, and achievements.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to youth development, Metha announced that the state has set an initial target of skilling 5,000 youths under NSEDM in the first year, with aspirations to go beyond that target.
He further informed that the government is offering skill loans ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 1,00,000 to eligible students, in addition to subsidies and financial assistance through the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Scheme to support aspiring entrepreneurs after their training and work experience.
Metha envisioned a future where skilled youth from Nagaland would work in global cities, fly in international airlines, serve in top hotels, and eventually return to contribute to building a stronger and more prosperous Nagaland. He reiterated that the government is determined to stand beside its youth and support every ambition and dream they carry.
Welcoming guests and collaborators from across India and other countries, he invited them to Nagaland with their families to experience its vibrant festivals, rich culture, scenic beauty, textiles, and the warm hospitality of the people. He added that the Naga way of life is deeply rooted in nature, community, and kindness.
Metha also referred to the national vision of inclusive growth, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often reiterated that without the development of the Northeast, the development of India is incomplete. He expressed optimism that the Northeast is poised to become a powerhouse of India in the coming years, particularly in fields such as music, sports, and arts.
He concluded by encouraging the youth to work hard and aim high, reminding them that “impossible is nothing” and that success lies within their reach.
Chief Executive Officer, ECTAAC, Temjenkala Aier, in her welcome address, emphasized that the Mega Hospitality Job Fair was not just an event, but a mission to empower Naga youth and connect them to global hospitality opportunities. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, industry partners, and international recruiters for their belief in the potential of the region’s young people.
“This is a moment of faith, perseverance, and purpose,” she said, adding that the event reflects the spirit of collaboration and vision for a stronger, employable future.
Industry leaders from ITC, Treebo, MMA, Deltin, Oberoi, HR India Overseas, and Volume, along with international recruitment agencies, were present to interact with aspiring candidates.
The programme was chaired by Soft Skills Trainer cum Editor-in-Chief, ECTAAC, Ayani Kikon. The opening prayer was offered by Church Elder of World Impact Community Church Dimapur, Alem Yaden, and benediction was pronounced by Women Pastor Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo, Among Aier.
The Mega Hospitality Job Fair drew enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students and young aspirants from various districts of Nagaland, making it a significant milestone in the state’s journey toward skill development and employment generation.
