Mega Identification & Assessment Camp for Children Living with Disabilities Held at Wokha

Commemorating the 5th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha, organised a Mega Identification and Assessment Camp for children living with disabilities at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha, on Tuesday.

More than a hundred special children, including government school students and those receiving home education, availed the services, which included free medical check-ups, assessments, and incentives.

T Ezantthung Lotha, District Inclusive Education (IE) Coordinator, Wokha, informed that government doctors conducted detailed assessments of the students, evaluating the percentage of their disabilities and subsequently issuing disability certificates.

He further stated that the certified students would be eligible to avail various government services and benefits, including travel concessions.

The camp was led by Dr N Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent of Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, along with seven other medical officers from different departments.
