Mega Oil Palm plantation drive 2024-2025 held in Jalukie

A Mega Oil Palm Plantation Drive 2024-2025 was held at the SDAO Office, Jalukie on July 16 with C. Peter Yanthan Director of Agriculture, as the Special Guest. The drive was organised by the Department of Agriculture.

Delivering the keynote address, Soumyadeep Dutta, Manager, NE Godrej Agrovet Private Limited remarked that working in Nagaland, they have experienced one of the best in ease of doing business amongst the North East States with excellent cooperation from the Department and the local farmers, informed a press release by the Department.

He Infromed that GAVL will be establishing Two “Samadhan Centres” which is a One- Stop Solution  Centre for all things oil Palm including inputs on a no-Profit No-Loss basis. Dutta also assured the  establishment of a mini processing mill as soon as the acreage is achieved.

Speaking at the event, Special Guest C Peter Yanthan,reminded the farmers that the Department has engaged the two best trusted players in the oil Palm Industry for the larger interest of the oil palm farmers of the State. Dispelling many wrong notions on oil palm going around  in social media, he emphasized that oil palm cultivation is an excellent sustainable and remunerative livelihood option and that the Buy back of Fresh Fruit Bunches is a consistent regular feature of the programme as pursued by the Department.

The programme was chaired by Z. Hukhato Sema Joint Director of Agriculture and a brief note on Oil Palm Plantaion under Jalukie Sub-Division was delivered by Mapeuheile Ndang SDAO, Jalukie.

The distribution of Oil Palm saplings was conducted by the Special Guest.
