The free medical camp was a part of the outreach programme of the UPHC. Sunday’s camp was conducted in collaboration with the ACVA, ISRN/Non-Link Workers Scheme, District AIDS Control Unit, Mobile ICDS, and National Vector Born Diseases control programme.
President ACVA, Renpithung Ngullie said there are six units under the All Commercial Vehicle Association – Auto Union, Taxi (ANTA, Wokha Unit), Truck Union, Bus union, Mini Truck and Tata mobile/Pick-up. He also thanked the medical department for the free medical camp.
UPHC, Wokha Consultant, Oponthung Kingken while apprising the gathering during the short programme said the free medical camp was part of the monthly activity under the outreach programme to reach out to the citizens of Wokha town to provide free treatment and also provide free medicines and vaccination.
The UPHC targeted the members of the ACVA in this programme as they are always engaged in doing social service and do not get time to even go for normal medical check-ups, Kingken stated, adding that it was for this reason that the department had focused on allowing the frontline workers to receive free medical services through the camp.
