Merenzungba Longkumer, 23 years hailing from Yaongyimsen village, under Mokokchung district became the first Naga youth to win the prestigious title of Man of Globe International 2022. The preliminary competition of the pageant commenced on 9 September following with the grand final on 10 September held in Malaysia.

Longkumer bagged the title after winning Mr. India International World Heritage 2022 held in Mumbai.

He started off his journey into the glamour world when he first participated and won the title Mr Dimapur Season 1 in 2021. He received direct entry to represent Nagaland state at the prestigious Mr. India International 2022 pageant and was crowned as the winner out of the top 12 finalists.

Speaking to Nagaland Tribune about his reaction when the results were announced, Longkumer said, “I was mesmerized, and I was like oh! Thank you, Lord.” He also said that his family and friends “were all blown away by the news”.

Talking about the challenges throughout his pageant journey, he said, “I did have to face some hurdles and challenges but when you surrender all to God with faith and believe he takes away all of it. The experience I had was so exotic and it was really challenging.”

Meanwhile, Longkumer on his future plans said he had a lot of plans in the pipeline, “…and to contest, I think as you all know International is the last stage so for now, I am thinking to take a break and think to do something out of the box.”

“Be Consistent and be real,” he advised all aspiring youths who wish to participate in such pageantries.
