Chozuba
The Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, a significant component of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, was officially inaugurated in Chozuba. Led by Imokokla, Additional Deputy Commissioner, the event took place at Vamuzo Memorial in Chozuba Town. A diverse assembly, including government officials, educational institutions, NGOs, and business
establishments, joined hands to kick off this nationwide initiative, DIPR stated.
Wokha
The Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign was launched at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Wokha. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Ranjan highlighted the campaign’s purpose of honoring the martyrs and brave hearts of the nation. DIPR informed that the activities encompass soil collection from block headquarters, recitation of pledges, the National Anthem, and tree sapling planting across the district from August 9th to August 15th. ADC, Wokha, K. Furhesie Nyuwi administered the pledge and led the planting of tree saplings.
Kohima
The Kohima Municipal Council announced the “Mera Maati Mera Desh” campaign as a culminating event of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Ceremonies paying tribute to the heroic sacrifices of ‘Veers’ are scheduled at various levels, including Panchayat/Village, Block, Urban Local Bodies, and State and National levels. The Council called upon the 19 Wards to contribute soil from their respective areas by August 10th, 2023, symbolizing unity in the nation-building endeavour.

Jalukie
According to DIPR, a coordination and work distribution meeting for the upcoming Independence Day celebration was held at the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Jalukie Town. Additional Deputy Commissioner T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir urged enthusiastic participation in both the Independence Day and ‘Meri Maati Meri Desh’ campaign.
The JNV School will lead the National Anthem recitation during the campaign, and ADC Jalukie expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support.

DIPR informed that Mon Town Council marked the 75th year of India’s independence by inaugurating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and launching the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma hoisted the National Flag and initiated tree planting. The event included tributes to heroes and a presentation on the campaign. Citizens pledged to contribute to India’s development.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Wangkhao Government College initiated the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign. The Principal, Dr. T. Chandrasekharan, hoisted the National Flag, and a pledge was administered by Doklong M Phom, Caretaker Officer of NCC. This campaign, aligned with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, aimed to instil unity and patriotism among the youth.
Pungro
The “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, a culmination of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, unfolded at the ADC Pungro Headquarters. EAC Pungro Yitachu Thur inaugurated the event in the presence of local leaders and organizations. Attendees paid tribute to national heroes and pledged their commitment to nation-building. The Panch Pran pledge symbolized their dedication to the cause, DIPR stated.
