The MGM College held a farewell program on April 29, 2025, for its outgoing senior batch. The ceremony was a dignified blend of gratitude, celebration, and inspiration, reflecting the vibrant spirit and culture of the institution, stated a press release by the college.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, which was performed by key dignitaries: Administrator Fr. Giju George, Principal Dr. R.K. Behera, Dean of Students Lisathung Ovung, and Students’ Council President Mughapu Swu.
Lanu Longchar set the tone of the event with a Bible reading, calling the audience to reflect on gratitude, purpose, and divine guidance. This was followed by a welcome address by Mughapu Swu, President of the Students’ Council, who expressed collective pride in the achievements of the graduating batch and appreciation for their legacy.
General Secretary Tiasunep Longkumer delivered a farewell speech that resonated deeply with both seniors and juniors, recounting memorable moments, shared challenges, and lessons learned. In a touching gesture, the Students’ Council presented a specially crafted token of appreciation to honor the dedication and contributions of the outgoing class. A standout moment of the evening was a graceful and emotionally resonant solo performance by Inavitoli Swu, which captivated the audience and added artistic depth to the event. Administrator Fr. Giju George then addressed the gathering with a heartfelt message from the management, applauding the resilience and integrity of the students as they step into a new chapter of life.

Principal Dr. R.K. Behera delivered an inspiring message that underscored the academic excellence and character displayed by the senior batch. He commended their active involvement in the life of the college and encouraged them to carry the values of MGM College into their future endeavours. Former Media and Information Secretary Rangwamzoing Kereking spoke on behalf of the 6th-semester students, offering a heartfelt reflection on shared journeys and extending his best wishes to his fellow graduates.
The formal segment of the program gave way to a colourful cultural celebration, where juniors enthralled the audience with dynamic dance routines and melodious musical performances. The evening was a joyous tribute — a blend of entertainment and emotion, honouring the seniors with love and admiration. As the event drew to a close, Sports Secretary Namwangbo delivered a sincere and articulate vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of organizers, faculty, and students who made the program a resounding success. The event concluded with a benediction prayer led by Nikaho Awomi, invoking blessings and protection for the outgoing batch as they embark on their respective paths.
