MGM College, Dimapur, organized an Awareness Session on Environmental Conservation and Sustainability in its college auditorium on 18 January 2025. The session, attended by students, faculty, and Eco Club members, highlighted urgent environmental issues and empowered participants to take meaningful action for a sustainable future, a press release from the College stated.

Joachim Jack, the Programme Coordinator of Action for Protection of Environment in Northeast Indian Region (APENIR), ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco Campus, Dimapur, delivered an impassioned call to action, urging students to embrace environmental responsibility as a core value. He provided actionable insights on sustainable practices, community engagement, and innovative approaches to tackle environmental challenges, emphasizing that “Every small effort counts towards protecting our Mother Earth.”

The session delved into pressing topics such as waste management, deforestation, climate change, and the critical role of youth in driving environmental change. Joachim Jack inspired the Eco Club members to lead from the front by organizing activities such as tree-planting campaigns, clean-up drives, and awareness programs within the community.

Participants described the session as both eye-opening and transformative. “It was not just an awareness session—it was a call to action. We now feel equipped and motivated to contribute to a greener tomorrow,” said one of the Eco Club members.

The session concluded with a strong pledge by the attendees to take concrete steps towards sustainability, marking another milestone in MGM College’s journey toward environmental advocacy and leadership in the region.
