MGM College organises Community Outreach Program

Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, the Sociology Department of MGM College organized an outreach program at Rintaneimi Neighbourhood Children’s Home on February 1. The initiative aimed to foster interaction, inspire young minds, and extend essential support to the children, informed a press release by the College.

The visit commenced with an engaging interactive session where students and faculty members connected with the children, discussing their daily lives, dreams, and challenges. This heartfelt exchange set the tone for a day filled with warmth and encouragement. A short cultural program followed, led by Lemdang C. Phom as the chairperson. The Sociology students captivated the children with music, dance, and entertainment, creating an atmosphere of joy and inclusivity. The event continued with exciting games and sports activities, skillfully coordinated by Biswajit, Tiasunep, and Kilangyala, ensuring an energetic and memorable experience for all.

Beyond interaction, the department also extended tangible support by donating essential supplies, including a bag of rice, potatoes, and other necessities, reinforcing its commitment to making a meaningful impact on the lives of the children.

This outreach initiative not only brought joy to the children but also proved to be an eye-opening experience for the students, instilling a deep sense of empathy, social awareness, and responsibility.
