Mid-career training for officers of Nagaland Police Service underway at Kohima

A seven-day mid-career training for Officers of Nagaland Police Service began at Administrative Training Institute, Kohima on January 28 with Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS as the Special Guest.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Sinha emphasized on the importance of conducting mid-career trainings to aid and improve on the knowledge and experience gained over the years in service. He urged the trainees to take the opportunity and reflect upon their years in service and try and learn new ways to improve themselves.

He expressed that the topics covered under the training were very relevant and that it would definitely help the trainees in effectively carrying out their duties as officers of law enforcement. He wished all the trainees the very best and hoped that the training would improve their administrative and management skills.

Director General, ATI, V Shashank Shekhar, IAS in his keynote address said that the mid-career training, the first of its kind, would cover a number of important topics under establishment matters including service and financial matters which were very relevant for the officers in carrying out their duties.

He acknowledged the long standing tradition of courage and dedication of the Nagaland Police and said that the Nagaland Police was well regarded by many for their professionalism and efficiency even when serving outside the State. He also urged upon them to dutifully tackle the ever rising menace of substance abuse in the state and to create awareness among the younger generation.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Joint Director, ATI, Kaholi Sema while Lecturer, ATI, Peter Konyak pronounced the vote of thanks.

The seven day mid-career training from January 28 to February 4 would be attended by 28 officers from the Nagaland Police Service and would cover a number of important subjects under establishment matters including Treasuries, Accounts and Audit matters, REB, OMs on Service matters, APAR, Vigilance, Legal aspects of Governance, Civil Works Procedures and Land & Registration rules.
