Minister CL John inaugurates Terogvunyu Village Gate in Tseminyu district

Tseminyu: Minister says Tseminyu district the gateway for development of other districts owing to its strategic location

Terogvunyu Village Gate inaugurated on 7 June 2023

Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Village Guards, CL John inaugurated Terogvunyu Village Gate in Tseminyu district on Wednesday. According to DIPR, the Village Gate, constructed at the entrance of the village, is funded under Entry Point Activity by the Nagaland Forest Management Project assisted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Speaking during the inauguration, the Minister expressed happiness to know that the village community has judiciously used the fund to construct the village gate, making it a success. CL John encouraged Terogvunyu village to work together with the department for development. Saying that Tseminyu district is the gateway for the development of other districts, owing to its strategic location, the Minister further urged the village community to continue their good work and set an example for others.

In his short speech, Temjenyabang, IFS, Project Director (A, F & P), NFMP lauded the efforts of the village community particularly the Joint Forest Management Committee for the various works being carried out under NFMP. Adding that future projects depend on the present work, he encouraged Terogvunyu village community to work wholeheartedly for the success of the project.

Daniel Tep, Village Council Chairman gave the welcome note. During the inauguration, Zuthunglo Patton, IFS, Conservator of Forests (STC), Nagaland, Rajkumar M. IFS, DFO & DMU Head Kohima, Dr Sevono Seletsu, ACF & ADMU Head, Yhuntilo Kent, FMU Head Tseminyu, Field Staff, DMU Support Staff and representatives from the neighbouring villages were present.
