G. Kaito Aye, Minister, PWD ( R&B) , Government of Nagaland on Friday, January 11 inaugurated Zingki Bridge Phelungre-Kiusam & PMGSY Phase -I & Phase -II Kiusam road in the presence of Benei M Lamthiu MLA 57AC along with chief engineer and other delegates. The bridge measures 170 ft connecting numerous villages under Kiusam area.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister Aye stated that development has reached Kiusam area, due to the cooperation extended by the people and assured that more development will take place. The people in the Saramati belt are blessed with beautiful landscape with high tourism prospects, viewed Aye, however these prospects could not be attained due to bad road connectivity. He, therefore, sought for the people’s support as the Government is eager to develop the area. Aye also informed that the Trans Road construction from Thonok- Kiusam – Pungro – Meluri is being awaited for clearance.
The Minister also expressed his happiness towards the Tikhir tribe for attaining official recognition by the Government. While opining that it is the time to know and free one’s own right, Aye also urged the tribe to give full cooperation in every possible way. The Minister was also of the view that the government must give recognition to each community.
Expressing his commitment towards development, Aye said that he is ‘trying to see which area requires the connectivity’. “Development is coming and there are lots to come one after the other,” said Kaito who highlighted the district’s tourism potential with it’s rich resources and beautiful landscape. Aye also stated the lack of connectivity. He urged the gathering not to blame anybody rather work together in unity and also to put trust on their MLA and vice versa. The Road and bridge Minister urged on promoting Nagaland and be an ambassador to each other.

Meanwhile, MLA Benei M Lamthiu asserted that the Government under Chief Minister Rio is trying to connect every remote areas in the state. Lamthiu expressed his appreciation for turning the project into reality with the of the consent of the concerned minister in charge. “When peace prevail, development and prosperity follows,” stated Lamthiu, who also urged the gathering for cooperation and generosity in land donation for development. Observing that Thonoknyu needs development in every spheres today, Lamthiu expressed the hope that the R&B Minister Kaito Aye will continue to bless and show his concern for the 57 AC Thonoknyu constituency.
As part of the inaugural event, traditional folk dances were showcased by Sangkumti Village men and Kiusam Town Women Union.
