Lihyeih T Konyak Crowned Miss ANCSU 2022; Dimapur Govt College overall Champion at Collegiate

Dimapur: The 5-day Meet from 17-21 October had three full days dedicated to competitions and two days for arrival and departure of the college students

The final day for events concluded at the All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) Collegiate Meet 2022 at Sakus Mission College Dimapur. The biennial Meet was last conducted in 2018 as the 2020 edition had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The final matches to the sporting events were held on Thursday, ending with the valedictory function and the crowing of Miss ANCSU 2022.

The special invite for the occasion was Kyupise Sangtam, Class 1 contractor and President of Nagaland Solar Contractors Union.

Patkai Christian College Chümoukedima won the champion’s trophy in football (men) following a match against Mount Mary College, also from Chümoukedima. PCC dominated the match throughout, winning 8-0.

In the volleyball (women) finals, Dimapur Government College triumphed over Phek Government College.

Dimapur Government College was declared the overall champion of the Collegiate Meet.

Kohima College was awarded with the best disciplines college.

Over a thousand college students from all over Nagaland had participated in the Meet which saw competitions in sports, band performances and Miss ANCSU.

Lihyeih T Konyak from Mt Mary College was crowned Miss ANCSU 2022. She also won the sub-title of Miss Ramp Walk.

First runner-up went to Pouthailu Gonmei from Dimapur Government College, while Imjungwatila Longkumer of Pranabananda Women’s College Dimapur won the second runner-up as well as Miss Congeniality. Best ethnic wear was won by Linokali Achumi of Patkai Christian College.

All the three Miss ANCSU winners were awarded with cash prizes and certificates.
