Miss Mokokchung 2025 is all set to return after three-years under the theme “Beyond Beauty”. Organised by Forerunners Mokokchung under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Arts and Culture Council (MDACC), the grand finale is scheduled to be held on July 25, 2025. This was officially announced during a brief press briefing held on June 7, 2025, at El Dora Hotel Mokokchung, alongside the offline auditions conducted at the same venue.
The offline audition, held on June 7, witnessed the participation of nine contestants. To extend the opportunity to a wider group, especially those who could not attend or are currently outside
Mokokchung, an online audition has been scheduled for the coming week. This was informed by
Sashinungla, Patron of Forerunners Mokokchung, who also reaffirmed the organisers’ commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity for all aspiring participants.
The offline auditions kicked off with four prominent judges-Sashila Nathan, Jentiren Jamir, Sentiyapang, and Imnuksungla-screening contestants at EL-Dora.
Highlighting the significance of this year’s edition, Sashila Nathan stated that this year’s pageant holds special meaning as the last public edition was conducted back in 2021, with the intervening years disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. She noted that Miss Mokokchung has consistently produced strong contenders for the Miss Nagaland title over the years, although the crown has returned home only once, in 2012.
Expressing optimism and pride in the efforts of the current organising team, she said, “We want to send out a very, very strong contender to Miss Nagaland this year. And I’m so happy to see
my young colleagues and associates striving hard toward this goal. So let’s hope we get back the crown this year.”

This year’s edition is being held under the theme “Beauty and Beyond”, with a strong emphasis on social causes, particularly special education and uplifting children with special needs.
As an educator, Sashila shared her concern about the increasing number of learning difficulties among children, especially after the pandemic. She said, “This is one area where we want our queens, our ladies, to sensitise the people and organise seminars, workshops, so that people are more aware. This will create a collaborative effort in uplifting the status of children, especially those in need. These children are in need of love and deserve to be treated equally like everyone else.”
Aren Changkiri, Patron of Forerunners Mokokchung and a member of MDACC, highlighted the role of MDACC in ensuring the credibility of the title. He stated that the MDACC serves as the parent body and will ensure that the title is not misused. He affirmed that the selection of winners will be done through a proper and transparent process.
Aren also revealed that the winner of Miss Mokokchung 2025 will be the official Brand Ambassador for MDACC during her reigning period and will actively participate in promoting social causes.
Addressing the challenges faced in organising the pageant over the years, Aren pointed out that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and economic setbacks, the pageant had suffered from low participation and lack of initiatives to host the event. Additionally, he noted that MDACC does not have full-time workers and the organising team mostly comprises working professionals who has many responsibilities.
Several new and upgraded features have been added to Miss Mokokchung 2025. For the first time, the pageant has partnered with professional groomers from outside Mokokchung. A couple from Kohima, who run a grooming institute called “Talent Foresight”, will train the contestants. These professionals bring with them vast experience in pageantry and personal development, ensuring high-quality grooming for the participants, said Nathan.
Nathan further informed that all evening gowns for the contestants will be sponsored by HM, a
renowned pageant fashion designer from Shillong, recognised as one of the best in the Northeast.
The grand finale on July 25 will be graced by two special guest appearances—the reigning Miss Femina India Kerala and Miss Femina India Manipur. Another highlight of the finale is a tribute runway walk featuring all past titleholders of Miss Mokokchung since 1992, as well as Miss Nagaland title winners from the Ao community.
The organisers have also assured full support for contestants throughout the competition.
Sashila Nathan informed that makeup artists and cocktail dresses for the second round will be sponsored by the organisers, i.e., Forerunners Mokokchung. Contestants are only required to prepare their traditional attire. She added, “This is a wonderful opportunity for young girls, and they should take advantage of it. Who knows, such an opportunity may not come again in the coming years. I appeal to all to come forward and support.”
Eligibility criteria for Miss Mokokchung 2025 include a minimum height of 5.3 feet and an age limit of 18 to 25 years. The organisers have also informed that all related updates and audition details will be available on their official Instagram page.
