The Beauty Aesthetic Society Nagaland (BASN) today announced in a press conference that the current Miss Nagaland will represent the state in Miss Grand India 2024 on August 11 in Jaipur.
The press conference was held at the Kohima Press Club office.
Reigning Miss Nagaland Neiketunuo Sechü, 19 will be representing Nagaland.
Expressing pride in sending a representative to the national level, Mele Pucho, President of BASN informed that this year marks the 33rd year of organizing Miss Nagaland. This year’s contest will focus on providing a higher platform for the state’s talented individuals. Preparation is underway to groom and support the contestant for the upcoming competition, stated Pucho.
Sarah Naam, Media Secretary, mentioned that this is the first instance where BASN is sending one of their beauty queens to such a significant platform.
Sechü will depart for Nagaland on August 6 for the competition, where she will represent India at Miss Grand International. Emphasizing on representing Nagaland through these beauty pageants, they aim to showcase the talent from our state.

Neiketunuo Sechü, 19, made an appeal to the public for support and expressed gratitude to BASN for their backing. The young beauty queen noted that she wishes to inspire others through her representation and to put the spotlight on Nagaland. Emphasizing her costume of showcasing the Hornbill bird, Sechü said she intends to promote the Hornbill Festival and the rich culture and traditions of Nagaland.
She highlighted the responsibilities that come with the crown and the necessity of hard work, dedication, and courage to maintain balance. Sechü is presently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Social Welfare at the Northeast Institute of Social Science and Research.
