Property cards under the Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) scheme were distributed at Phulpui and Tachhipah in Mizoram on Monday making the State the first in the Northeast.
Land Revenue & Settlement Minister Pu Lalruatkima, who was present at the distribution function said that the distribution of Property Cards is a great development. Property Card is no different from Land Settlement Certificate (LSC), he said, adding that land ownership is given to the people according to the law value calculation will be included.
The Minister also said that Sub-Registrars’ Office (SRO) will be set up in each district soon as part of the National Generic Document Registration System is functioned.

420 property cards, 166 cards in Phulpui and 254 cards in Tachhip were distributed today. The scheme is currently scheduled to be implemented in 319 villages in Mizoram.
SVAMITVA Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Under the scheme, cameras and drones are used to photograph residential areas in rural areas.
