K Vanlalvena, Mizoram Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha has on Thursday said that he represents the Mizo community in Manipur that that he is their MP.

“Different tribes of Mizo ethnic community in  Manipur may think that they dont have any Member of Parliament of their own.I want to let them know that I am their MP,” K Vanlalvena from Mizoram posted on Twitter.

Addressing and explaining the issue of communal clash in Manipur which started on 3 May 2023, he also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday where he requested a ‘Joint Parliamentary Team’ be formed and sent to the affected areas to carry out an independent investigation on the entire sequence of events so that the truth may be unearthed and justice is delivered. He also requested that Christian MPs are included in the parliamentary team.

Vanlalvena had earlier on 4 May sent a separate memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah appealing for intervention from the Central Government to end the violence in the neighbouring State.
