MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero inaugurated Science Stream at Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero, Phek district on Saturday. He also opened the school’s 61st Annual School Sports Week, DIPR informed.

Dr Mero, in his address, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his commitment to education and Advisor School Education Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome for introducing the Science Stream. He also thanked former minister Neiba Kronu for his initiatives in this regard.

The MLA emphasized that education is crucial for the all-round development of an individual and pointed out that Pfutsero’s serene and peaceful environment, rich with natural blessings, makes it an ideal place for students to pursue education.

Encouraging the students, he drew inspiration from the life of the legendary sprinter, Milkha Singh, who despite the challenges of being separated from his parents during the India-Pakistan partition, achieved greatness and won gold medals in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

The program was chaired by Agumle Lungalang, PGT, with Vechikhiye Lohe, Principal, GHSS Pfutsero presenting the welcome note, and Rev. Dr. Tshulingupe Kapfo invoking God’s blessings.
