MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso along with his KOHIMAS hospital surgical team on Thursday reached out to the needy patients in Peren district and performed eight laparoscopic surgeries free of cost.

Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, better known as Dr Ato, former managing director of KOHIMAS Hospital, Kohima has been delivering his yeomen service in the medical field despite changing trajectories as a legislator.

“Dr Ato and his team along with the staff and management of Peren District Hospital altogether performed eight operations including both major and minor cases free of cost,” said one of the staff.

A Master in surgery and one of the first laparoscopic surgeon in Nagaland, Dr Ato has also been delivering his service in Wokha and Mokokchung district for the last 19 years.

According to Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, the initiative in Peren district is a part of his long-term plan to provide free healthcare services to the entire state of Nagaland.
